Members of the Commercial Counsellors’ Club  visited the Lubelskie Region

On 13th -15th June 2018, at the invitation of the Marshal Office, members of the Commercial Counsellors’ Club at the Polish Chamber of Commerce visited the Lublin province.

 

The diplomats met with the Marshal of the Lubelskie Voivodeship, Mr. Sławomir Sosnowski and a group of employees of the Department of Economy and Foreign Cooperation, including deputy director Mrs. Małgorzata Błaszczyk-Osik. Ms. Karolina Opielewicz, Deputy General Director of PCC, talked about the intentions that led to the establishment of the Club, its current activity and plans for the future. During the dinner, which was also attended by representatives of the Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce with the President Mr. Jacek Piechota and Vice President Mrs. Elżbieta Bodzio, information about previous cooperation was exchanged, and talked about the possibilities of intensifying contacts.

 

 

Diplomats also took part in the Polish-Eastern Conference PUIG Lub-Invest – an event organized for the third time by the Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce. Speakers included Armenian Ambassador HE Edgar Ghazaryan, Ambassador of Kazakhstan HE Marguan Baimuchan, Counselor Minister of the Embassy of Belarus Mr. Aleksandr Czesnowski, Counselor Minister of the Embassy of Ukraine Mr. Volodymiyr Bachynsky. As emphasized in his speech by Marszałek Sosnowski, today’s successes of exports from the Lublin region (200% as compared to 2006) can be attributed to good cooperation and joint actions of authorities, chambers, associations of producers and entrepreneurs themselves. The conference was full of many interesting sessions and panels. In one of them, the Director of the Department of Economy and Foreign Cooperation of the UMWL, Mr. Artur Habza, cited several good examples of investor service from the officially formalizing Business Lubelskie Team and talked about the Lublin photonics.

 

 

Study visit

The guests could also be convinced of the economic potential of the region during study visits. The diplomats visited, among other things, Ursus, the underground of Perła Brewery, JMP Flowers and Wyspa Wisła.

The main business profile of URSUS is the production and sale of tractors and agricultural machinery. In the branch in Lublin, apart from tractors, also Grand Tiger pick-up trucks are mounted, equipped with a double cabin, a 170 HP diesel engine and four-wheel drive, as well as buses. Ursus products combine excellent tradition with modernity and high quality.

 

 

Perła Brewery at Bernardyńska Street is a monument of Lublin’s industry – modernized former monastery and the church of the Reformed Fathers, in which beer was produced in the years 1846 – 2001. In 2014, post-production rooms were opened in the vaults of the Perła Brewery. Guests got to know the rich history of this place, events and people associated with it, and they learned about the process of production and the ingredients of beer. They could also taste how the local beer tastes.

 

 

JMP Flowers grows over 70 varieties of roses, 70 varieties of anthurium, and above all 200 varieties of orchids. The company also manages the largest in Poland, its own wholesale trade network, which has a total of 15 representative branches, supplying the flowers of the best Polish florists with fresh flowers. The company glass farm with an area of 18 ha has been equipped with comprehensive technological facilities and a cogeneration system, thanks to which their production is self-sufficient in terms of electricity and heat generated.

 

 

The last point of the program was Wyspa Wisła, a leisure and recreation complex located on the Vistula River in Stężyca. This is an excellent proposition for families and people who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and actively rest in a natural setting. It is also a place for organizing intimate trainings, conferences or team building events, cultural events or celebration of family events like weddings, etc.

Foreign diplomats from Armenia, Belarus, China, Cyprus, DR Congo, Denmark, Estonia, France, Russia, Senegal, Slovakia, Spain, and Uruguay attended the meeting. In their speeches they emphasized how useful these types of meetings are, during which they can get acquainted with the potential of regions, establish interesting personal contacts.
