Lublin Airport (IATA code: LUZ) is located in Świdnik, approx. 12 km from the center of Lublin. The airport was opened in December 2012. Currently, the airport serves the following airlines: Ryanair, Wizz Air, Lufthansa, and charters.
Lublin Airport received the Ground Handling Agent Certificate (AHAC), issued by the Civil Aviation Authority. The document will enable the ground handling of aircraft performed for the benefit of air carriers in the handling of hazardous materials. This is another step towards the development of the cargo operations of the Świdnik airport.
Communication with the airport is provided by, among others regular train and bus connections. For the needs of the airport, a new electrified railway line No. 581 was built, connecting the Lublin Główny station with the Lublin Airport station directly adjacent to the terminal. The bus terminus is located in the terminal and is the only such solution in Poland.
