Economy of the Lubelskie Voivodeship

The Lublin region is one of the leading regions of Poland in the field of agricultural production and food processing, and 71% of the region's area is arable land. Lubelskie is the largest food producer in Poland. We are a leader in the cultivation of cereals, hops, fruit crops and soft fruits.

There are food companies operating in the region, recognizable not only in the country but also abroad. The largest of them include: a producer of pasta and other cereal products, Lubella; Perła Browary Lubelskie S.A.; Spółdzielnia Mleczarska Spomlek, Spółdzielnia Mleczarska Ryki and Zakłady Mięsne Łuków.

In addition to the agri-food sector, the region operates in the chemical, machinery and mining sectors. Grupa Azoty Puławy is one of the largest enterprises in the Lubelskie Region. It is the largest exporter in the voivodeship, the largest industrial company, and one of the leading investors and employers. The Lublin region plays a significant role in the domestic energy sector, thanks to the Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka S.A. mine.

Examples of companies from the production sector include PZL Świdnik plants producing helicopters, Sigma producing machines and tools for mining, percentage of construction machines Caterpillar, manufacturer of metal structures Fortaco, RST Roztocze producer of metal products and gaskets, Fabryka Bearing Rollo in Kraśnik, or Modern Expo producing equipment. for shops. Another strong branch of our economy is the wood and furniture industry, examples of which include: Black Red White, a furniture manufacturer present on 55 foreign markets, or manufacturers of window and door joinery, Pol-Skone and Erkado. The sectors of rapid growth in the region are the IT and BPO / SSC sectors. It is estimated that in Lublin alone, over 8,000 people are employed in the industries mentioned above. The exhibition and event sector is also developing dynamically. For over 20 years, Targi Lublin S.A., which organizes domestic and international trade fairs, or the Lublin Conference Center, which offers the possibility of organizing meetings and conferences for over 400 people, have been operating on the market.
