Philharmonic Henryk Wieniawski in Lublin is the oldest philharmonic ensemble operating in Poland after World War II. The philharmonics give concerts and recitals both on their own stage in Lublin and in the open air of Nałęczów Spa Park and the local Małachowski Palace.
It is also necessary to visit a new place on the cultural map of Lublin, the Center for the Meeting of Cultures, a place with an original history that offers a number of events in the field of theater, art, film, literature and music. The former building of the poviat monastery has also gained a new face. The Cultural Center and the Municipal Public Library of Hieronim Łopaciński. The monastery also became the seat of the Crossroads Center for Intercultural Creative Initiatives. There are creators of theater, dance, performing and visual arts, educational activities, a cinema, a cafe and a bookstore.
We are one of the richest regions in the country in terms of the number of historic buildings and complexes. A peculiarity on a European scale are the Goth cemeteries from the 2nd-4th centuries, discovered in the Hrubieszów commune, and the chalk vaults in Chełm. There are many former magnate castles and palaces, landowners' residences, noble mansions, among which the most popular in Poland is the Zamoyski Museum in Kozłówka. There are also numerous monuments of sacred architecture in the region, with the most famous Gothic Holy Trinity Chapel at the Lublin Castle.
An important part of the cultural heritage of the Lublin region are traditions and folk rituals cultivated in many localities of the region, e.g. in the area of Krzczonów, Urzędów, Biłgoraj. They are protected and popularized by festivals and reviews, including the National Festival of Folk Bands and Singers and the Folk Art Fair in Kazimierz Dolny, the International Polesie Summer with Folklore in Włodawa and the National Fair of Blacksmith Art in Wojciechów.
